I am an artist and curator. My curatorial and photographic practice examines concepts of time, memory and the landscape with a particular curatorial focus and research on providing platforms for Pacific heritage photographic and moving image practices.
I have curated shows at Cement Fondu, Firstdraft, Artbank, The Lock-Up Art Space and Centre for Contemporary Photography among others. I was the project curator for Critical Animals 2017, the emerging curator for Artbank 2018 and Firstdraft’s emerging curator for 2017. In 2016 I was chosen to participate in 4A’s Centre for Contemporary Asian Art’s Curatorial Intensive. In 2020 I undertook a two month curatorial residency at Basis in Frankfurt, Germany and will undertake a mentorship with Gwen Lee the director of the Singapore Photography Festival.
Future projects include: The Churchie emerging art prize at IMA Brisbane 2020, We will all return back to the earth for the Ballarat Foto Biennale 2021, The past is the present is the future at Granville Art Gallery 2021.
My writing has appeared in Vault Magazine, Art Almanac, 4A Papers, Art New Zealand and Running Dog among others.
I am currently based in Sydney, Australia and am originally from Auckland, New Zealand.
I also am Co-Director and Founder of Cold Cuts - Artist Run Space in Sydney, Australia.
