Holly Conner

About

Holly Conneris a Sydney-based drummer and percussionist working across the electronic music, pop/indie rock, jazz/improvised and experimental music scenes. From early beginnings in classical percussion, she now specialises in drum kit. 

As a freelance musician, she recorded the drum and percussion parts on the soundtrack for the BBC/HBO television series Top of the Lakeandaward-winning experimental surf film Beyond the Noise. She currently plays with art-pop producer Lupa J, has performed with producers such as Marcus Whale and has toured throughout Australia with singer-songwriter Holly Throsby.

Holly is currently a part of folk-pop/rock 6-piece Skinny Legions; indie rock band BoysnLove; minimalist improvisation collective Microfiche; experimental dark-folk group Nou; funk/jazz fusion outfit Funk Engine;and electronic/house band Minus Marcus. Under the moniker ilex, Holly also composes and performs her own electronic music using a hybrid laptop and live drums setup, as well as DJing.

Holly is a graduate of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music Jazz Course (Bachelor of Music, Honours, 2013-2016), where she studied under Dr. Simon Barker and Phillip Slater, among others.
