Siobhan Gibbs is a performance artist from Magandjin (Brisbane) recently moved to Gadigal land. Siobhan's practice spans across theatre, queer club performance, events, and community work. Graduating QUT in 2017, Siobhan embarked on finding a space in the cracks of capitalism, burrowing down into art as revolution. Creating her solo work, SEWER RAT GIRL which debuted in 2021, allowed her to celebrate all the facets of her practice by slamming them together. The show toured in 2022, going to Adelaide Fringe, Sydney Fringe (nominated for Best Comedy), an independent season at the Butterfly Club (Naarm) and in 2024 headlined Woodford Folk Festival and presented the work again in Katherine (NT). Siobhan's training foundation draws on the five years she was a company member with Zen Zen Zo Physical Theatre. She has a deep physical rigour to all her performances; grounded in the Suzuki Method of Actor Training, Butoh and Viewpoints. Her club drag persona, Gogo Bumhole, has performed across nightlife stages both nationally and internationally, including ALL TOGETHER NOW & ELECTRIC PICNIC (Ireland), Same Heads (Berlin), and Brunswick Picture House. Gogo created and hosted their smash wrestling club night, HOLEMANIA at the Tivoli with Shandy in 2024, to incredible success. Siobhan has begun the development of new work GOGO BUMTIME, and is excited to dive deeper into the importance of being sincerely silly in this current social climate. Siobhan's ethos is creating art that allows people to be safe to go to dark places – and dance in the dark.
