Matthew Prest is a performance maker, teacher and producer working in performance across theatre, live-art and online contexts. Common threads throughout his practice are the poetics of failure and an emphasis on the experiential nature of live performance. His notable works include The Tent, Hole in the Wall (with Clare Britton), Whelping Box (with Clare Britton and Branch Nebula). More recently, he has taught at University of Wollongong, researching collaborative performance practice, this year creating Ten Strangers in a Room, a 3 act play written by ChatGPT. He is a founding member of performance group Shammgods.
