Lara Thoms: is a queer, Naarm (Melbourne) based artist who often collaborates with people beyond the arts to reconsider structural powers and social visibility. Lara is currently co-artistic director of APHIDS, Victoria’s longest running experimental arts organisation. Her work The Director in collaboration with an ex-funeral director to interrogate the death industry toured to The Sydney Opera House, Anti festival, Finland, SICK festival, Manchester and ITOFK, India. Lara has also presented socially engaged work at the Museum of Contemporary Art, The Malthouse and The Art Gallery of South Australia. She has been part of Field Theory for over a decade.
Lara is a member of artist collective Field Theory.
