Ivey Wawn (1990) is a dancer who lives and works primarily on Gadigal land in inner Sydney. She works primarily as a performer and collaborator in the work of other artists, and has worked mainly between museum/gallery contexts and theatres. She has had the pleasure of working with and for Adam Linder, Agatha Gothe-Snape, Amrita Hepi, Andrew Hardwidge, Angela Goh, Asad Raza, Atlanta Eke, Brooke Stamp, Diana Baker Smith, Make or Break, Rhiannon Newton, Rochelle Hayley, Tino Sehgal, and Xavier Le Roy among others. Projects developed in her own name have more or less focused on the conditions of embodiment within the historic specificities of capitalist social relations. Her artistic practice and the presentation of her work has been supported by the Australia Council for the Arts, Art Gallery of NSW, Arts House, Bundanon Trust, Chunky Move, Critical Path, DirtyFeet, Firstdraft, Ian Potter Cultural Trust, Impulstanz (DanceWEB scholarship), Liquid Architecture, Lucy Guerin Inc., Museum of Contemporary Art, Next Wave, Performance Space/Liveworks Festival, Readymade Works, Tanzhaus Zurich, Underbelly Arts Festival and more. Ivey also owns and operates a restaurant called Fontana in Redfern.
