Ian Ramirez is an emerging queer Filipino artist, writer, and researcher, currently committed to exploring decolonial queering as a process of curation and performance-making. His recent co-curatorial projects with the Environmental Film Festival Australia, 'it would be a nice place' (2022) and Makeshift (2021), have been presented at Seventh Gallery and RMIT University respectively. At present, Ian is a doctoral student at the University of Melbourne where he is researching on the performances of the bakla in the Philippines.
