Winona is an independent collaborative piece with a team comprising housemates and friends. Initially devised by Ebony Rattle (they/them), a queer disabled playwright, sound engineer, sound designer and director living primarily on Wurundjeri land. Accompanying them is queer, neurodiverse, performer, DJ and musician SODA (Joseph Robinson) (they/he/she), who is currently an artist in residence with Melbourne-based classical/contemporary music group Forest Collective. Queer, autistic, Gubbi Gubbi man, composer and soundscape artist Diimpa (William Cooper) (he/him), queer femme unconventional performance maker Kerith Manderson-Galvin (they/them) and queer costume designer and fashion icon Chantelle Lucyl (she/her).
We reject the traditional roles of theatre and work in an anarchist collaborative space as a team, allowing for support, rest, and dream idealisation.
