Born and raised in Papua and recently moved to New York City. Darlane is falling in love with presence and interactive performance. He now performs as a soloist directs his own projects collaborating with interdisciplinary artists.
After graduating from ISI Yogyakarta, he has presented his own performance works throughout major venues and festivals in Europe, South-East Asia, and Australia. He have worked with numerous curators such as Arco Renz, Melati Suryodarmo, Tang Fu Kuen, Anna Wagner or Christoph Winkler, Helly Minarti, Rainer Hofman, Miroto, and Joseph Mitchell. He also developed pieces in collaboration with Tian Rooteveel, Choi Ka Fai, Natalie Hennedige, Jean Paul Lespagnard, Daniel Kotter, Yudi Tahjudin and Ugoran Prasad.
Currently he has been choreographer for Landscape and Body tour, for Biennale Warsaw, Poland and Kunsfest Weimar, Germany. Choreographer and performer in Dance with Minotaur, a production by Garasi Performance Institute (2020). Also, choreographer and performer as Creon in Rubber Girl on the loose, a production by Cake Theatre at Esplanade Theater Bay, Singapore (2019). In residence in several spaces such as Mika Haka Foundation, New Zealand (2017); Namoodak Movement Lab, Cheongsong, as well as IMACO & Andong Mask Dance South Korea (2012-13).
