About

Daniel Mudie Cunningham is an artist, curator, critic and lecturer based on Gadigal land, Sydney. Appointed Guest Co-Artistic Director (with Rosie Dennis) of PSpace in 2023 to deliver a 40th anniversary program and edition of Liveworks Festival, Daniel has a long history as PSpace artist and curator alumni. He performed some of his earliest works in three seasons of legendary cLUB bENT (1995, 1996, 1998), curated Flaming Muses (2002), staged his performance lecture Jodie Foster’s Beaver for ClubHouse (2011); and co-curated Cherine Fahd’s Ecdysis (with Jeff Khan for Sydney Festival, 2021-22). His practice over thirty years was the subject of a survey exhibition Are You There? curated by James Gatt at Wollongong Art Gallery in 2023, with an extensive monograph to follow in 2024. A respected arts leader, Daniel has held institutional roles at Carriageworks, Artbank, Hazelhurst Arts Centre and Western Sydney University. He is the guest lead curator for Cementa Festival in 2024.
