‘Amit’ is a Hebrew name that means good friend. Amit Noy (he/they) is an embryological maker living in Aotearoa. Their ancestors came from Israel/Palestine, but their whakapapa and own life traces through Mexico, Argentina, Poland, and Hawai’i. Amit dances for Michael Keegan-Dolan/Teaċ Daṁsa and the New Zealand Dance Company, and has written on performance for the Pantograph Punch and Tempo Dance Festival. In 2021, supported by the Toi Pōneke Choreographic Residency, they made a show with their family called ‘Love is Everything’ (NZ Fringe Festival). They are currently in residence at the Basement Theatre in Tāmaki Makaurau/Auckland.
