
Sela Vai is a Tongan-Australia choreographer who seeks to create connection and empowerment through movement. Pushing her creative thresholds, Sela has been the resident choreographer for for Black Birds Theatre company since 2017. She choreographed the opening acts for Pacific Runway Fashion Show Carriageworks 2017 and 2018; all of which dignify her Pacific Islander heritage.
Sela’s award-winning choreography has led her to choreograph and movement direct TVC’s for Suncorp and Apple and Commbank. She has choreographed for many Australian-based artists Ngaiire, Thelma Plum, Wallace, L-Fresh the Lion, Phil Fresh, Ange, Natalie Slade, Sparrows and Kid Fiction. She has been invited to showcase at events such as Sydney Fringe Festival, First VI Kinjaz production, World of Dance, and Australian Dance Festival.
