Day For Night: The Pleasure Arc is a delirious 24-hour-long series of queer ceremonies taking us from brunch to club, to kick-ons and back again. Bringing together queer performers, artists, musicians, DJs and misfits from across Australia and Asia, Day For Night: The Pleasure Arc invites you into a wild ride through queer space and time. Dip in and out across the weekend, or stay and lose yourself in the divine pleasures of queer performance and party life.

This is the culmination of 10 years of Performance Space’s Day For Night: Sydney’s most beloved mashup of queer art and party culture. As day becomes night and then day once again we will watch performances, dance ecstatically, hug ferociously and feast with impunity. And as we’ve always done at Day for Night, we will create a queer utopia through our togetherness.

Important Show Information

Day for Night celebrates queerness in all its forms: some of the performances contain nudity, debauchery, queer filth, joy, smoke, haze, some strobe and flashing lights.  

Entry

This is an 18+ event. IDs and bags will be checked upon arrival.

You will be given a GOLD wristband on entry. This will allow you to come and go from Bay 17 and from Carriageworks as you please. If you have purchased a bundle ticket with 24 Hour Grumble Boogie, you will receive a PINK wristband as well.

Day For Night is a welcoming and inclusive space. Consent is sexy and absolutely necessary. We care deeply about the safety and joy of our whole community and anyone who does not respect these core values will be kindly asked to leave. LEAK YOUR OWN NUDES

An iconic Sydney must-experience, Leak Your Own Nudes is our favourite underwear party. HIGHER, presented and hosted by Leak Your Own Nudes (8pm-10pm) will invite you to join us in your favourite set of underwear, or whatever you feel most comfortable and radiant in. The cloak room will be ready to hold onto any excess clothing if you’d like to take part.

Food + Beverage

There will be a diverse food offering across the weekend available for the full duration of the event, with Vegetarian, Vegan and gluten free options available.
There will be bars situated in the Public Space and inside Bay 17 and Bay 20.
Alcohol service will be suspended between 3.50am - 10am, with non-alcoholic, hot and cold beverages available.
Day For Night will include the offer of some light party-themed refreshments throughout the night. If you have allergies or food sensitivities, please make sure you ask our friendly hosts before accepting any of these offers. 

Getting Here

Carriageworks is located in a residential area at 245 Wilson Street, Eveleigh. We recommend arriving by public transport as there is limited on-street parking. Redfern station and Macdonald Town station are a 10 min walk away, with bus stops at Sydney University a 7 min walk away.
There will be a shuttle service between Carriageworks and 3 night bus stands in Newtown, Redfern and Central Station, running between 1am - 5am. A taxi / rideshare pickup point will be operating on Carriageworks Way.

Exiting the Precinct

Please respect our neighbours and leave quietly, particularly between 10pm-8am. There will be a shuttle service between Carriageworks and 3 night bus stands in Newtown, Redfern and Central Station running between 1am - 5am. A taxi / rideshare pickup point will be operating on Carriageworks Way.

Access

An access ramp from street level is located at 245 Wilson Street. Accessible parking is available at the end of Carriageworks Way, entered via 229 Wilson street.
All venues within Carriageworks are level access.

24hr Grumble Boogie
Next door to Day For Night: The Pleasure Arc in Bay 20, Performing Lines will be presenting 24 Hour Grumble Boogie, 24 hours of dance invitation, movement meditation and deep time feeling. An all day and all night surreal aerobics class; communal celebration of aliveness; durational way back in, through and with. If you hold a double pass to both 24 Hour Grumble Boogie and Day For Night: Pleasure Arc, you can move between each venue at will, subject to capacity. .

If you don’t already hold a ticket to 24 Hour Grumble Boogie, you can purchase one with a 20% discount by showing your Day For Night: The Pleasure Arc tickets on arrival at the box office.
