Our individual and collective notions of time are always evolving and ever-present. nganggurnmanha : sound dust is an immersive audio installation that challenges us to listen deeply to the natural world and find ways to inhabit time differently.

nganggurnmanha : sound dust is a collaboration between Yamaji Wajarri, Dutch and English artist Nicole Monks and Sydney-based collective Make or Break (Connie Anthes and Rebecca Gallo). nganggurnmanha means ‘listening, hearing, thinking, remembering’ in Wajarri language.

In four intimate, limited-capacity sessions, watch dancers Ivey Wawn and Yolanda Lowatta respond to the nganggurnmanha : sound dust instrument.

CREATION: THE DANCE

PERFORMANCE

Performance time: 4PM, Sunday 25 October

Deborah Kelly’s extraordinary CREATION project sees the construction of a new belief system with which to confront the rise of the irrational and its threat to civil society: one that emulates the emotive and sensual allure of religious faith.

CREATION will offer secular society the senses of sacredness, ritual and connection that mobilise religious communities. Over five days, a group of dancers have joined choreographer Angela Goh and artist Deborah Kelly in a workshop to build a liturgical dance from the ground up, culminating in a public display of devotion.

This is your chance to witness the beginning of this landmark project.

EVER SUN

Opening hours: 10am10pm, each day of Liveworks

Ever Sun is a new painting and installation work by artist Rochelle Haley, aiming to tune the eye and mind to the constancy and change we experience with the rising and setting of the sun.

Taking cues from the surrounding architecture, archways of positive and negative forms are invitations to walk through the beaded veils, drawing our attention to the play of light reaching in across the day into the condensed colours of the sunset.
