This week, PSpace bids a fond farewell to our Executive Producer Brendan O’Connell, who leaves the organisation to take up the exciting post of Executive Producer at Lucy Guerin Inc in Melbourne—one of Australia’s foremost contemporary dance companies.
Performance Space Artistic Director Jeff Khan says, “Brendan leaves PSpace after an impactful year delivering our 2019 Liveworks Festival and working closely with myself and the team to develop a re-imagined 2020 Festival. We are sad to see Brendan leave, but we’re excited to see him take up this leadership position in one of this country’s most outstanding dance companies. I know he will excel as a leader in this important new role.”
As Brendan departs, we are excited to welcome a host of new staff, joining us from this week to work on the delivery of our 2020 Liveworks Festival. Stepping into the Executive Producer role, Sam Watson-Wood brings an extensive background in creative producing, event curation and communication in the arts, most recently in her role as Director, Partnerships, Program and VIP at Sydney Contemporary. We’re also thrilled to welcome Dino Dimitriadis (Festival Producer) and Claire Robinson (Marketing Coordinator) back to the team, after both of them played pivotal roles in the successful delivery of 2019 Liveworks Festival.
Sam, Dino and Claire join our now-not-so-new Marketing & Development Manager Stella Kirkby, who commenced at PSpace remotely during lockdown in May and has never looked back. Stella leads the development and implementation of our marketing and fundraising strategies with energy, expertise and vision.
As October draws closer, we are looking forward to working with this talented team of arts powerhouses to bring you a transformed festival in this critical year. Stay tuned for further updates by subscribing to our e-news, or following us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
