PSpace Welcome Kate Britton to the Team

PSPACE WELCOMES KATE BRITTON TO THE TEAM

Performance Space is delighted to announce the appointment of Kate Britton to the role of Senior Producer. Kate joins Performance Space from producing roles at Sydney Opera House and spearheading and leading the development of Newcastle’s New Annual Festival. An experienced producer, curator and arts manager, Kate has held a multiplicity of roles in her career including as a producer on our 2018 Liveworks Festival. We are delighted to welcome Kate to back the PSpace team in this senior position; she takes up the role in the week commencing 4 April 2022. PSpace Artistic Director & CEO Jeff Khan says, “We are absolutely thrilled to be welcoming Kate back to PSpace. Kate’s considerable expertise across multiple artforms, her outstanding relationships with artists and her sophisticated producing and curatorial skills make her the perfect fit for this role. I know Kate will bring all this and more to the Senior Producer role, and I can’t wait to collaborate with her on all aspects of our artistic program over the coming years.”

FAREWELL TO SAM WATSON-WOOD and DINO DIMITRIADIS

In welcoming Kate we also bid a fond farewell to outgoing Executive Producer Sam Watson-Wood and Program Producer Dino Dimitriadis. Sam held the Executive Producer role from August 2020 - February 2022, leading the delivery of the 2020 & 2021 Liveworks Festivals and key artist development projects as the world churned through the COVID-19 pandemic. Sam departs Performance Space to spend the year traveling Australia with her family, and will continue to consult for the organisation on selected projects over the coming months. PSpace Artistic Director & CEO Jeff Khan says, “Sam has made an enormous impact on Performance Space, leading our programming team through difficult terrain and forging brilliant collaborations with artists, colleagues and partners that saw the delivery of landmark artistic programs and projects. We wish her and her family an amazing time on their travels as they take off on their next big adventure.”

Dino Dimitriadis has worked with Performance Space for nearly four years, taking up the role of Liveworks Festival Producer in 2019, then continuing as Program Producer through 2020 until March this year. Dino brought unique creative and producing expertise to their time at PSpace and departs the role to take up a series of major artistic opportunities that will be delivered over the coming year. Jeff Khan says, “Dino’s insightful and creative approach to producing, their advocacy for a diverse cohort of artists and their commitment to expanding the possibilities of performance have been a joy for all of us to work with—they have also been instrumental to the success of PSpace’s digital programs in recent years. Dino has a bright future ahead—it’s their time to shine as an artist and we can’t wait to see what they do.”
