Kudos Live JADE/D

Kudos Live JADE/D, is the 2025 edition of Kudos’ annual performance art showcase supported by Performance Space and Carriageworks, featuring six emerging artists, Harrison Rae, Josie Kearney, Sydney Jarrett & Seren Wagstaff, Theo Lathouras, Wen Pei Low / 刘雯佩 and Will Naufahu. 

Some of the artists turn to endurance as a tactic to combat fatigue; others use the stage to create fleeting moments of captivation in a culture of numbness; still others use performance as a tool to speak to the jade/dness produced by capital, colonialism, nation-states, media culture, and fate.

As part of the development process, artists received a mentorship with Performance Space's Artistic Director, Kate Britton and Head of Programming, Katie Winten. 

Katie Winten shares, "It was a delight to have spent a day mentoring students from UNSW Art & Design, Sydney College of the Arts and the National Art School as they prepare to present their performance works for JADE/D at Carriageworks.

These opportunities to engage with emerging artists are always deeply rewarding, offering a glimpse into the creative energy and ideas shaping the next generation of performance practice. Returning to UNSW Art & Design (where I once studied) was a real trip down memory lane, reminding me how formative those early years were. I’m excited to see how these students’ ambitious works continue to evolve and can’t wait to experience their presentations at Carriageworks."
