We are very excited to announce that we are partnering with Cementa Festival in 2021, as part of their Regional Artist Professional Development Program. Our Artistic Director Jeff Khan will be joining an amazing group of industry leaders, running a range of sessions to support 10 regional artists to develop their practise, including Jess Cook from 107 Projects, Tian Zhang from Pari, Adam Porter from Campbelltown Arts Centre, and Michelle Newton from Art Space.
The artists will also be mentored by the program's Creative Producer Amala Groom and four other leading Australian artists including Deborah Kelly, Liam Benson, Claudia Nicholson and Phil James.
"Performance Space is thrilled to be partnering with Cementa and Amala Groom in the delivery of this impactful mentoring program for emerging regional artists. PSpace is committed to working with experimental artists across city, regional, national and international borders and we can't wait to dive in and support a new generation of regional makers to develop their practice" Jeff Khan
This program represents Cementa's commitment to supporting contemporary artists working and living in regional NSW, creating a culture unique to this context while connecting it into the broader currents of contemporary art.
The program draws on the local knowledge of Regional Art Galleries and Regional Art Development Organisations to nominate potential candidates, with ten artists from across regional NSW being selected to participate.
