GIRL

GIRL is an electronic music duo conjuring queer sounds from the heart of darkness and the city of light (Adelaide, Australia). It is both a creative and romantic partnership between Jason Sweeney and Em König. Their music floats between genres fusing pulsing electronic production and experimental pop.

Alongside working as a touring and recording band, GIRL are creators of large-scale, immersive, sound-based performance works. Collaborating with a team of talented artists (Jennifer Greer Holmes, Heath Britton &; Sascha Budimski), they are currently developing Masc, the second in a trilogy of performance works which began with Sentients (presented by Vitalstatistix as part of their Climate Century event and presented under the act’s former name Winter Witches) and will finish with Emission (to be developed throughout 2020). These tour-able projects incorporate live sound, song, lighting design, projection and movement and exist at the nexus of live performance art and pop-style concert.
