SWEATING THE FOUNDATIONS

110%

THURS 18 – SAT 28 OCT

Drawing on Carriageworks’ industrial history, 110% rezone the precinct’s public space as a site of active art vocation in this large-scale sculpture. Unfolding throughout Liveworks, this parasitic installation creates porous and leaky architectural forms that receive ongoing support and attention from highly disciplined workers through durational performance activations. Come and wander the wetness as 110% sweat the foundations of minimal sculpture and reimagine the practice of collaborative labour.

  • TECHNO HAPPENING
    6 – 7.30PM, SUNDAY 28 OCTOBER

For the final hours of Liveworks 110% join together with experimental sound artist Enderie for a final exploration of space, action and residue in their monumental installation. Tending their sculpture with actions and implements accrued over the course of the festival, this techno happening will witness the wetness with some agile gestures and event-specific jams.

Enderie’s sample-cunk is quarter the cut cloth of Brisbane’s 4-piece dumb-dub group Cured Pink. Currently Sydney, a love of labour in egregious climes; proto-tech 150BPM blue-collar-loan drums filtered via Airtasker’s club style guide. Enderie or a near version of it has done it for Korner (Taipei), National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, Melbourne’s Liquid Architecture and the 2014 Next Wave Festival, London’s Café Oto, Lisbon’s Galeria Zed De Bois, Berlin’s NK Projekt, Warzaw’s Mozg, Jogja National Museum, Sydney Opera House, the Art Gallery of New South Wales, the National Gallery of Australia, the Museum of Contemporary Art, the Institute of Modern Art, Melbourne’s The Arts Centre, Metro Arts, Firstdraft Sydney, Serial Space, Jogja National Museum, Underbelly 2015, St. Jerome’s Laneway Festival 2015, the NOWnow Festival 2015/2017, Vivid Live 2014, Sound Summit 2012/2013, and the Melbourne International Jazz Festival 2011.
