LIVEWORKS LAB

Performance Space presents the Liveworks Lab, an opportunity for artists from across Australia and the Asia Pacific to experience a unique selection of experimental and contemporary art before developing new work at a remote residency.

A two part program, the Liveworks Lab begins with artists and facilitators experiencing a diverse selection of performances, exhibitions, conversations, keynote lectures and workshops at Liveworks Festival of Experimental Art. Throughout this time the artists and facilitators engage in a series of round-table discussions and critical reflections while also experiencing work at other arts institutions across the city.

In the second part of the Liveworks Lab the artists and facilitators leave the busy city behind and escape to Bundanon Trust in regional NSW. In the peaceful surrounds of Bundanon each artist is given the time and space to undertake new experiments and work on projects that continue and extend their creative practice. Over the course of the residency new ideas are developed, current projects expanded and new connections are made between practitioners!
