Stand and fight

Part video installation, part physical theatre, Falling Woman is a surreal fairy tale set against the beguiling landscape of the Australian bush. The Falling Woman is stuck in a loop of torment, stumbling and falling under the sharp eye of The Witness (Regina Heilman); a mysterious stranger in gold shoes. Created by Halcyon Macleod (My Darling Patricia, The Piper, Posts in the Paddock) and theatre maker Alice Osborne, Falling Woman is an interdisciplinary work that traverses live performance, object manipulation and text. Shifting through a series of challenges without rules, the Falling Woman is clawing her way back. Her fight for survival is framed by video artist Sam James’ bewitching landscapes of rural NSW.
