“weirdly joyous and unexpectedly inspiring.” SMH on Bargain Garden
“a model for the creation of a musical theatre genre that doesn’t conform to the traditional and tired” Daily Telegraph on Fearless N
Feel like you’re alone in the universe? Come experience Theatre Kantanka’s “speed of light dating” as they explore the known limits of the cosmos in CLUBSINGULARITY.
CLUBSINGULARITY is a contemporary cabaret staged by Theatre Kantanka’s inimitable performers exploring the Universe, its origins, its future, and its wondrousness in this star-studded, all-singing, all-dancing cosmological spectacle not to be missed. Turning National Art School’s Cell Block Theatre into a lonely-hearts club, Theatre Kantanka invites to help solve the question of why (and if) we’re alone in the universe.
Theatre Kantanka has been delivering extraordinary theatrical experiences to non-traditional spaces since 1995. They boast a regular roster of Sydney’s most beloved experimental performers, including Katia Molino (I’m Your Man, Belvoir St), Kym Vercoe (version 1.0), and Valerie Berry (Urban Theatre Projects). The company that brought you Bargain Garden, Missing the Bus to David Jones, and Fearless N now reaches for the stars to examine the strangeness of our lives in relation to the wonderment of the Cosmos.
It’s no science lecture, and you don’t need a PhD in physics to enjoy CLUBSINGULARITY. Anyone who has fallen back to Earth from a broken heart will appreciate this experimental cabaret that seeks to prove the science of love and loneliness.
