AGATHA GOTHE-SNAPE | Liveworks 2017

Performance Space, Museum Applied Arts and Sciences and Carriageworks are thrilled to present Agatha Gothe-Snape's work as part of the 2017 Liveworks Festival of Experimental Art

Inspired by a chance encounter with legendary New York conceptual artist Lawrence Weiner, Agatha Gothe-Snape explores the role of the physical body in transmitting and receiving knowledge. Rhetorical Chorus (LW) presents a choral performance score, developed alongside composer Megan Alice Clune, in the 19th century system tradition of cheironomia, a musical system notated by hand gestures, accompanied by an animated digital PowerPoint presentation, each illuminating the dual languages of Lawrence Weiner.
