EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST: DANCE MASSIVE OPEN STUDIOS

Dance Massive Open Studios, managed by Ausdance Victoria as part of Dance Massive 2015, is an open rehearsal/showings program that provides an opportunity for 10 Dance Artists and Choreographers to present work in progress in an informal context to audiences and producers in the intimate surrounds of the Malthouse Theatre Bagging Room.

The aim is to:

  • Provide artists and choreographers with an opportunity to create and show work in progress to the general public, interstate and international producers, presenters and agents with the potential to begin discussions around future presentations.
  • To provide international and national producers, presenters and agents with day-time opportunities for informal but targeted interaction with Australian artists.

FUTURE/FORWARD SUMMIT TRAVEL BURSARIES
NAVA

Wanting to attends NAVA’s Future/Forward National Visual Arts Summit, but don’t have the cash to travel? Well, if you are in SA, WA, VIC or QLD NAVA can support you with a $1000 travel bursary to get you to Sydney.
If you are not living in any of these states don’t worry there are also other opportunities through State Funding agencies to attend Future/Forward the National Visual Arts Summit.

APPLICATIONS OPEN: SAINSBURY SCULPTURE GRANT

The Sainsbury Sculpture Grant was established in memory of Madeline Olive Taylor through her estate, to provide financial support for emerging Australian artists and groups working in sculpture and/or installation to further their professional skills. According to Madeline Olive Taylor’s wishes, selected recipients are provided with funds to undertake further study, residencies or professional development workshops either locally or internationally.

Funding Available: Individual applicants will be awarded $2,000 + GST each and groups/collectives can be awarded $4,000 + GST.

An arts residency to extend your practice and present new work.

Amplifying our Seedpod residencies in 2014 and 2015 and in association with Country Arts SA, and festivals in TAS, Punctum invites you to extend your Live Arts practice beyond the borders of major cities with Seedpod Amplified a new arts research, development and finished work presentation residency that brings together artists, organisations, thinkers, doers and local folk to explore Live Arts engagement and create new work in regional settings.

ENTRIES OPEN: FISHER’S GHOST ART AWARD

The annual Fisher’s Ghost Art Award is a highlight of Campbelltown’s annual Festival of Fisher’s Ghost. This year marks the 52nd year of the award, with prize money in excess of $40,000. The major prize is the open award and the winning artist is awarded $20,000, with the work becoming part of the Centre’s permanent collection.

Marrickville Council is calling for applications from emerging and established artists and communities to propose art works for the 2015 ArtSeat public art program. Each selected project will be awarded $1500 to assist with the realisation of their work. For more on ArtSeat

EMERGING ARTIST OPPORTUNITIES: ART START 2015 

Applications are now open for the Australia Council’s 2015 Art Start Grants which offer up to $10,000 to individual artists who have completed an accredited creative arts course (Certificate IV or higher) in the past three years and are carving out a career in any of the Australia Council supported artforms.

Rianto is a master of the traditional Javanese danceform, Lengger Banyumas, and is currently Artistic Director of Dewandaru Dance Company in Tokyo.

A MONTH IN THE COUNTRY

HotHouse is offering six funded and a number of unfunded residencies throughout 2015 as a part of A Month in the Country.

Residencies are available to actors, choreographers, directors, designers, new media artists, playwrights and creative teams seeking ‘time out’ from their usual creative enviornment. Your artistic practice may not always be theatre-related, but you must be developing a work for performance  to qualify for these residencies.
