2018 RESIDENCIES & WORKSHOPS

Performance Space is proud to continue our commitment to the development of artists’ practices with our range of residencies and workshops in 2018. Partnering with PACT Centre for Emerging Artists and Critical Path, these programs will provide a valuable opportunity for artists to extend their practice, experiment with new ideas and develop creative skills within a supportive environment.

 

EXPERIMENTAL CHOREOGRAPHIC RESIDENCY
Performance Space & Critical Path
7 – 25 May 2018

WHAT IS IT?
A three-week residency at Critical Path’s Drill Hall that supports the creative development of experimental or interdisciplinary approaches to choreography and movement practice.

WHO IS IT FOR?
Artists or artist collaborations working in choreography and movement practice. We encourage applications from artists of culturally diverse backgrounds, artists who critically engage with new technologies and differently-abled artists.

QUEER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM: STEPHEN CUMMINS RESIDENCY

WHAT IS IT?
This two-week residency at PACT Centre for Emerging Artists that provides artistic mentorship, production support and curatorial feedback to assist queer artists or collectives to explore new performance work.

WHO IS IT FOR?
Emerging queer artists wanting to develop a new work, or more established artists wanting to expand their practice in a new direction.

This series of practice-focused workshops will sharpen your performance skills, offer techniques for generating ideas and initiate you into the world of queer performance making.

WHO IS IT FOR?
Queer artists of any age working in live modes, who are interested in embarking on a more focused and critical approach to their practice.
